Installing software Caused 0x0000007b errors. HIR can't help.

    Hi.

I'm attempting to evaluate your Shadow Protect suite for desktop and server backups in our office but ran into a major snag.  After installing Shadow Protect Server on one of my Windows 2003 servers, it refuses to boot, constantly coming up with "Error 0x0000007b" bluescreens as it initialises the OS.  as you know that errors effectively a "inacceble boot device / cannot read from OS media" error which sugests your install has done somethign to the Windows <-> Disk HAL.

I've spent the last couple of days trying various things - such as:

    1. Boot to recovery console.  chkdsk /p, fixboto and fixmbr
    2. Use a ShadowProtectIT disk to take an image, restore it with HIR enabled and load
fianlly i'm having to resort to #3:
    3. Perform a recovery instalation of Windows and re-install the server.

Can you come up with any reason why this would happen - and ways to prevent it happening again?  i like th eproduct form one angle, but destroyign server instalations isn't great now is it ?

Hmm . . . I've never seen this happen after simply installing ShadowProtect.  It could be some kind of interop conflict with another driver.  What other third party applications are installed that might install a storage filter driver? (i.e. virus scanner, backup, security, encryption, etc.)
