    PowerEdge 1950 not booting after restore

    I am having trouble getting an imaged server to boot after it is imaged.  I am replacing 2 36gb drives with 2 146gb drives (raid 0) and when I image the 146gb drives and reboot it will not boot.  It just blinks the annoying cursor at me...

     I have made sure that the raid settings are the same, and the next thing I'm going to try is fixmbr. 


    Any other suggestions to try if that doesn't work?  I hate to keep scheduling downtime for this upgrade.

    Yep, that's very likely an MBR issue.  Boot the Windows Install CD for the version of Windows that is on that disk, and select to start the Recovery Console, and then run the "mbrfix /drive 0 fixmbr" command (or something like that).
