Any update on when this will be released for the IT edition?

The shrink feature is already in the latest Q3 IT Edition.  It is part of the dismount backup image wizard in the Vista recovery environment only.  Just mount the image file you want to shrink to a drive letter (as read/write), then dismount it and check the box to shrink the volume.  The volume will shrink and a new incremental with the changes will be created.

I expected the feature to work like this:

    1) You make a backup of your volumes using the normal methods (legacy or vista)
    2) You then kick off the restore wizard
    3) When you select a smaller volume to restore to it would resize automatically (or something similar).

Kevin I will try that method and post back. Is there a KB article on this?

I answered my own question on the "shrink" feature: No, it is not a KB article yet.

Here is the only KB article out on the feature: HERE

    SITUATION:

When attempting to restore an image file to a new disk or partition, you receive a message stating that "The selected free space is not large enough for the backup image."

    SOLUTION:

The current version of ShadowProtect does not support restoring images to partitions that are smaller than the one they came from (even though the data itself would fit). This is a feature we plan to include in a future release.

The best work-around is to use a partition editing tool, such as Paragon Partition Manager, to shrink the original partition prior to creating the backup, so that the restore to the smaller partition will work.

I will make sure the KB article gets updated.  Thanks.
