I sent the following email to StorageCraft. Their reply was "I've heard that some people have done it." Do you know how? Or, is there a post on this forum that discusses this issue. Thank you.
My email to StorageCraft:
I have purchased and have been testing ShadowProtect. It seems to work fine.
However, since installing it, every Ghost backup has failed with the following message:Description: Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Recovery point of C:\. Error E0BB00B5: Snapshot error Error E0BB0154: Snapshot failed because of VSS failure. Error EBAB03F1: A stop control has been sent to a service that other running services are dependent on..Details: 0xE0BB00B5Source: Norton GhostStorageCraft replied with:
Any time you have multiple snapshot backup solutions installed that utilize VSS, there is potential for conflict. In the case of Ghost, we have customers who report using the two products successfully together. However, we don’t suggest doing it, since Ghost actually uses an earlier version of our snapshot driver. Two different versions of the snapshot driver trying to do the same thing on one system can create problems, and every now and then we do hear of a problem such as this occurring. We would suggest sticking to one product or the other.
