BSOD with Stop: 0x0000007B after restore

I took a backup of a new WinXP Pro istallation from a Dell Dimension 8100 desktop and was able to restore it without incident - good backup.  I then attempted to restore this backup to multiple machines (HP Pavilion 533w, Dell Latitude D610, Dell Latitude D630) using the Windows 2003/XP selection (not Vista) and HIR.  On every machine the restore completedly successfully but the OS would not boot.  On all machines when I boot I get a blue screen of death with the following message

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer.  If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen restart your computer.  If this screen appears again follow these steps: Check for virus on your computer remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated.  Run CHKDISK /F to check for hard drive corruption and then restart your computer.  Technical Information: *** Stop: 0x0000007B (0xF894E528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

The computer the image was made from had a 10GB primary, active C: partition and a 5GB D: partition.  I have tried all combinations with not restoring MBR, restore original MBR, restore Windows XP MBR, restore hidden track, etc.  Am I missing something here?  Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I just made a similar post and have had the SAME problem. I have tried every concievable option and every HIR driver I could find.

Can anyone help please? Are there any official people from this company that post on here?

Re: BSOD with Stop: 0x0000007B after restore

The BSOD with Stop: 0x0000007B error is "Boot Device not Accessible"  This error occures when the system starts to load from disk using the BOOT loader, then loads the disk driver and switches to using the disk driver.  If the disk driver is not correct and cannot access the disk, or the disk cannot be found then the BSOD with Stop: 0x0000007B will occur.

Make sure you are supplying the proper disk driver for each machine in question.  While we try to detect the proper disk driver, some of the hardware ID's on newer machines match older drivers.  If you supply the proper driver as the prefered option then it should us it.
