    ShadowProtect backup failure

     Hello All,

Below is an issue I am getting with one of our clients servers:

25-Jun-2008 15:00:00    service    100    service (build 41) started job by incremental trigger
    25-Jun-2008 15:00:00    service    104    3.1.0.3 CF25-317F 5912-BC17-B1F2-C31B
    25-Jun-2008 15:00:00    service    100    backup volume F:\ (NTFS)
    25-Jun-2008 15:00:00    service    100    VDIFF turned ON
25-Jun-2008 15:00:00    service    101    Cannot execute job (The system cannot find the path specified. 0x80070003(2147942403))

Now this is connecting to a share (so are two others servers at the same site) and has been working fine for months. Does anyone have an idea of what this could be?

    Thanks,

    Re: ShadowProtect backup failure

I suspect this is an issue that is resolved in 3.2.  When a full image is created, the file name (including path) is stored in the registry.  In the log you posted, the line "VDIFF turned ON" indicates a DiffGen backup is going to happen so the full image file name is retrieved and verified for the current chain.  It looks like it cannot find the full image, possibly because the destination has changed but the original path was not updated in the registry.

I suggest updating to 3.2 to see if the problem is resolved.  If you don't want to upgrade, I can give you instructions to edit the registry.
