The first time I got this error I tried to re-boot the server and I lost the operating system and used ShadowProtect to rebuild the server and it worked fine.  This happened last Friday.  Now this error started to showup again as of Tuesday.  From my searching the web there is not much information on this problem.  I am not even sure that this is a hardware problem or not.  I do not think it is a software problem because the "G" drive backup correctly.  Hopefully someone has a resolution to this problem.

    Thank You,

    Joe

     Joe,

Free space exclusion failures could be caused by file system problems.  Since only one of your volumes is failing, it could be that the C volume's file system is corrupt or has a problem.  Run 'chkdsk /r' on the C: drive and watch to see if it finds and/or fixes any errors, and also look in the System event log for errors or warnings originating from ntfs, disk, ftdisk, dmio.  If chkdsk finds and fixes errors, try the backup again.

Thank You for the reply.  I have a disk problem of some sort.  The drive changed the partition type from NTFS to QNX,UN*X.  As long as the system is up it is working OK.  When I have to re-boot I get "no operating system".  I replaced a one of the RAID drives and hope this solves the problem.
