    Log Write Errors

    Hi,

Running a continuous incremental job during the collapsing process at night (for the last month) I've been getting Log Write Errors (full event details below).  All images held on an external 1TB USB HDD.

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: StorageCraft Image Manager
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 1
    Date:  27/08/2008
    Time:  8:30:44 PM
    User:  N/A
    Computer: SERVER
    Description:
Log Write exception: The device is not ready.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Found another post on this forum about this issue and have checked log settings.  App log is about 4MB from being full and is set to overwrite.

Collapses appear to be working okay according to the log.  Running SP 3.2.0.2 and IM 1.0.25.2

    Any ideas?

    Re: Log Write Errors

This error is referring to a write error to the ImageManager.log file on the external USB drive.  Device not ready probably means the drive is in power save mode and cannot be written when the collapse kicks off.  In any event, this is not an error on the part of ImageManager so I think we will change it to Event Type: Information instead and include in the Description the info that we are attempting to write to the ImageManager.log file.
