    Shipping Method

Q1.  I am perching ShadowProtect Desktop v3.1 from Storagecraft store. I want to download the product and have it shipped.  Is this possible?

Q2.  What is the difference between the download and the boxed package?

Q3.  If I download, what is the file size.

The download is only 13 MB for the windows version. It's the trial version which you unlock with the license key.

The .iso is about 250 MB for the download to create the boot disk.

The only difference with the boxed version is the disk, and maybe the users guide, which you can download as a .pdf anyway.

A1) I'm not 100% sure of this, but I believe that if you purchase the shipped product that you will still have access to download the recovery environment's .ISO file through the store.  I'll have to ask around to find out for sure. Good question.  Of course you can ALWAYS download the installed portion of the product right off of the main storagecraft.com web page (it's called a "trial" on the web page, but in fact is the full product - it will work, with full functionality, for 30 days, or permanently if you activate it using a purchased product key).

A2) There is no difference in the software.  I believe the boxed stuff includes a small manual.

A3) The ISO download is large (over 200MB).  The installer download is somewhere around 20MB.  Those are loose numbers, I haven't checked these sizes recently.

    Re: Shipping Method

I have download the trial version.  My understanding, I will need to uninstall it before installing the full product.  Is this correct?

After perching the product, can I download the ISO file to another location where I would have a DSL connection with better speeds than I have at home.?

Also: thank you for your quick replies.

Even though the email confirmation says you need to uninstall the trial, you don't need to.

Just unlock it with the license key.

Yes, you can download the .iso to any computer to burn the boot disk.

@Smokey - Like Merlin says, the trial actually IS the full version of the product.  It's just that it will only backup for the first 30 days after installation.  However, if you activate it using the product key you receive at purchase time then it will no longer act like a trial (it will not stop backing up after 30 days).
