    Error code 503

    Hi Guys,

I have been trying to conduct a routine weekly backup of our server and have been getting the following error code.

First instance was overnight backup - failed - 503

Then I tried it again when I got into work the next morning and failed again - code 503

Then I activated the option "Enable concurrent task execution", started the backup again and it is still working (touchwood) successfully.

I thought concurrent task execution was enabling you to conduct more than one backup at a time, I am only doing one anyway, why did that one check box make such a difference?  What is code 503?

Any information regarding this would be much appreciated.

That is very strange.  The 'enable concurrent task execution' option should not affect your backups in this way.  Could you please post the entire backup log entry for one of the jobs that failed?  Were there multiple volumes being backed up?  Do you have multiple backup jobs?

I too am getting the 503 error code, but only on my largest, full backups to an HP storage server. I thought the issue was resolved with some firmware updates, etc. from HP, but apparently not. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated. I will submit my error log also.

     Callum,

If you can send those logs into support@storagecraft.com I can take a look at them and get back to you after examining them.
