I can’t browse manually through the network both because sharing does not start and is greyed out. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

You need to manually map a drive using the Network Configuration Utility.  Click on the "Network Drives" button on the upper left hand corner of the utility.  Enter your path and credentials and select the drive letter you wish to use.  Don't forget to enter the full credentials, such as domain\user or remotecomputer\user.

Why the “install and start networking sharing service is not greyed out?”
