Murray Was the backup fo the "C:" taken in its encrypted or non-encrypted sate? In other words, did you create the backup from within Windows, or, using the ShadowProtect RE CD? I'm not clear on why you decrypted the drive and when - the restored volume would happily overwrite whatever...

Hi ViceSquad Last time I tested PGP and it worked fine with ShadowProtect. The only thing to keep in mind is that you need to use v3.5.2 of ShadowProtect and configure the Advanced settings so that ShadowProtect "Ignores read failures". This is because PGP blocks any read access to the sectors...

Try the following Create a system environment variable named SP_SBVOL_IGNORE_READ_ERRORS with the value 1. Restart (stop and start) the "ShadowProtect Service" (ShadowProtectSvc.exe). I believe a later version of ShadowProtect may have this option built in to the UI. FT
