You do not need to re-install Vista. However, it sound like you need to update the HAL (instructions below). It also sounds like the new RAID is not operating correctly. Windows 7 uses a variant of BCD. If you have only Windows 7 installed, you're booting using BCD. If you have a dual boot system with Windows XP and Windows 7, then the only way you can boot into both systems is with BCD. Windows XP does not know anything about BCD.
