  • Unable To Install Network Adapter

Hi I spent the good half of the day browsing your KB and Forums and FAQ’s to try and find the solution to my problem. I’ve read a couple of options but being the novice that I am, I’m afraid I’m none the wiser. Could you please help? I am first time user trying to do a restore using the Recovery Environment...

  • Re: Slow to restore SBS2003

Simon In the situation you describe, the chances are that the slow throughout was driver-related. There are other reasons (see below), but none of these appear to apply to your particular case. In most cases, you will often get a better driver match (e.g. for RAID and network) using the Vista-based boot...

  • Re: Network issues in recovery environment on NEW Lenovo T410 laptop

Hi Please take a look at an earlier post that covers this: http://forum.storagecraft.com/Community/forums/t/2715.aspx The KB should also have additional information regarding this. You need to load a Vista 32-bit NIC driver so that the ShadowProtect Recovery Environment can "see" the network...

  • Re: No Ethernet adapters were found problem......tg

The NIC driver you need is one that is compatible with the ShadowProtect recovery disk environment you are using. If you boot into the Vista-based (Recommended) environment, then you need to load the Vista 32-bit driver, rather than any DOS driver. In some cases, you might be lucky and have a Win7 driver...

[quote user="NigelT"]A lot of the posts here are from techs who are working with these products on a daily basis. We're a small business so we don't have that luxury. A product of this kind has to work first time out of the box (even if behind the scenes it's very configurable)...

  • Re: Advanced restore options

Lower the rank, the better a match is for the device. A rank of zero is the best match. With things like this, it is often better to just check Microsoft's MSDN pages. That way you get it direct from the people who wrote the code. How Setup Ranks Drivers (Windows Vista and Later) http://msdn.microsoft...

[quote user="beachcomber"]EDIT : I finally resolved the issue : I erased the disk and then recovered from The Vista Environement. I was asked to provide both disk.sys and .INF files for the SCSI\Drive, so I changed the match level to "fair level". However, the OS managed to boot for...

  • Re: Advanced restore options

Hi Yeah, DevCon is really handy to get the Hardware ID for the device in question. You can then use that ID to help identify a driver and/or even hack an existing driver INF file to include that Hardware ID (and therefore force Windows to load a driver if you did not have a suitable inf file to hand...

  • Re: Shadow Recorvey

You can try and boot into the ShadowProtect Legacy (Win2003) environment, and load the storage drivers from a floopy disk at boot time. The ServerRAID 7e Win2003 drivers are here: https://www-947.ibm.com/systems/support/supportsite.wss/docdisplay?lndocid=MIGR-5072078&brandind=5000008 However, the...
