  • Re: Knowing what RAID controller drivers are in build or needed

I'd actually suggest something a little different. If anyone asks you to support a machine (internal or external customer), make sure you get a full system inventory (software and hardware) before saying yes. There are some software agents you can load that can track this information for you, or...

  • Re: Add drivers to restore cd

You can't. It's not like the old DOS-based backup floppies. The "Recommended" boot environment of the ShadowProtect RE CD, contains a large number of the most common drivers. If a driver is missing, you can simply load those after the ShadowProtect RE boots. Regards FT

  • Problems with HIR restore on Dell Poweredge T610 w/PERC H700 "Integrated" SAS Raid controller

Trying to migrate to a new Dell Poweredge T610 server from an old Windows 2003 SBS box. I have downloaded the 2003 RAID drivers from Dell's website and attempted to load them in the XP/2003 recovery environment but the F6 menu claims that the txtsetup.oem file is missing (which by the way is on the...

  • Version 4.0 Two steps forward and One step back

Some nice new features in version 4. However the upgrade process reminded me of an upgrade I did with Acronis (sorry to be so mean about this). Booting into the recovery environment wouldn't show my drives, although they have always shown with the Version 3.x recovery environment. The drives did...

  • Re: Incremental Size - Windows Vista/7

Jeff & Rigo Is there anyway you could attach a copy of the "slow" backup log(s)? What chipset (and driver) is Source drive attached to (e.g. NVIDIA, Intel ICH10)? How is the Destination drive connected to the machine (e.g. USB. eSATA, Network)? Rigo Do you see the same "DPC Time Placeholder"...

  • Unable To Install Network Adapter

Hi I spent the good half of the day browsing your KB and Forums and FAQ’s to try and find the solution to my problem. I’ve read a couple of options but being the novice that I am, I’m afraid I’m none the wiser. Could you please help? I am first time user trying to do a restore using the Recovery Environment...

  • Re: Slow to restore SBS2003

Simon In the situation you describe, the chances are that the slow throughout was driver-related. There are other reasons (see below), but none of these appear to apply to your particular case. In most cases, you will often get a better driver match (e.g. for RAID and network) using the Vista-based boot...

  • Re: Network issues in recovery environment on NEW Lenovo T410 laptop

Hi Please take a look at an earlier post that covers this: http://forum.storagecraft.com/Community/forums/t/2715.aspx The KB should also have additional information regarding this. You need to load a Vista 32-bit NIC driver so that the ShadowProtect Recovery Environment can "see" the network...

  • Re: No Ethernet adapters were found problem......tg

The NIC driver you need is one that is compatible with the ShadowProtect recovery disk environment you are using. If you boot into the Vista-based (Recommended) environment, then you need to load the Vista 32-bit driver, rather than any DOS driver. In some cases, you might be lucky and have a Win7 driver...

  • Re: Can't restore

[quote user="NigelT"]A lot of the posts here are from techs who are working with these products on a daily basis. We're a small business so we don't have that luxury. A product of this kind has to work first time out of the box (even if behind the scenes it's very configurable)...
