  • Re: ImageManager and drive mappings to NAS device

ShadowProtect and ImageManger do not support mapped drives. You need to use a direct UNC path: //servername/foldername/ Make sure that ImageManager has the correct LogOn credentials to access the UNC destination (Run->Service.msc: ImageManager->Properties->LogOn credentials) Any destination...

  • New SP User Questions

    1. Since my incremental backup sizes are way too small compared to the overall size of my outlook.pst file, I am assuming that SP must be treating the outlook.pst file as a special case and somehow only backing up the new emails that have occured since last backup instead of backing up the entire changed...

  • Shadowprotect and SOHO Wireless Network - Possible?

After a bad experience with a hard drive crash combined with not-so-timely backups, I have decided to get up to speed on backups using technology reasonably available to a SOHO network. I have a wireless network, and CAT5 is not in the cards. What I have in mind as my goal is wirelessly backing up to...

  • Re: Incrimental Backups not available in Restore

I did notice this yesterday, too. Same scenario with same NAS (but I don't think this issue has anything to do with the Buffalo). I am evaluating the ShadowProtect Desktop 3.2. I installed it on a couple of workstations in my office and created backups to a shared folder on the SBS2003 server. The backup takes more than a day to backup a 143GB drive. The speed is less than 1MB/sec. I have tried it on different workstations and...

  • HIR issues - SBS2003 moving to new box

I found posts on here related to concerns when moving a DC to a new box, ie. NIC card and services bound to original NIC when SBS2003 was first installed... I've tried the migration (twice unsuccessfully) using both the HIR "Remove NIC" checkbox and without using it. I also put in that...

  • Backup causing the server to lockdown network traffic

Hi all, We are having a weird issue with our backups. We are currently using StorageCraft ShadowProtect Server v3 for imaging and BackupExec 9.1 for tapes. Most of the time (although not all of the time) whenever we run a shadowprotect backup, it causes the server to pretty much block ALL network traffic...
