  • Re: Drives are not seen after turning computer off and back on

[quote user="Cardinal24"]OK. I acknowledge this is not purely a Software issue. Still, I am a desperate man. So maybe you can help. We bought a pair of Seagate drives to use with SD3. They are Seagate FreeAgent Desktop 500GB 3.5" External Hard Drive - 7200, USB 2.0 drives. When we turn...

  • Re: failed back-up Job

Yeah, that's a good plan. Only suggested the backup if you were feeling unsure about removing any BitLocker files. If it was a TMP error, then it is definitely worth deleting some files, maybe moving some over to the D: drive. It is also probably a good sign, in that BitLocker may actually have closed...

  • Re: failed back-up Job

Hi Olivier It's a good job you mentioned BitLocker...! OK, it's not a problem with your drive - it's a problem with the failed BitLocker install. I think the error you got was not "TMP" but rather "TPM" (i.e. BitLocker Trusted Platform Module). Can you check this? Can...

  • Re: failed back-up Job

Hi Olivier Not sure about the problem reading the firmware revision....I can't say I've seen that before. But the last test did run and fail. Not good. Here's some other things you could try: Check to see if there is any firmware updates for the drives. If you can get the PN for the HD, either...

  • Re: failed back-up Job

Hi Olivier You're going to have to provide a little more information about the ouput from the Seagate tools. There were some problems with Seagate HDD firmware a while back. I wouldn't have thought that would be a problem now. Can you redirect the errors to a text file and attach it to a post...

  • Re: Fatal I/O Error

Hi Andrea I did a little look around and found two things. The iastor problem did occur with people using Intel's ICH7R and ICH8R chipsets, configured as RAID. A new Intel driver fixed the problem. I know you have ICH9R, but it would be worth updating the iastor driver. Just keep in mind that the...

  • BSOD with Seagate Disc Wizard

I'm still evaluating ShadowProtect and I quickly discovered that it caused a BSOD within seconds of starting a backup. The StorageCraft Knowledge Base says that Acronis True Image is incompatible with Shadow PRotect and Seagate Disc Wizrd is based on Acronis. After uninstalling Seagate Disc Wizrd...

  • Re: Cannot boot Vista 64-bit after system volume bare-metal restore to new disc.

Yeah, sorry about that, but I do get annoyed when people starting saying they are junking SP and going to use Axxonis and Gxxost. The only reason I spend time on this forum is because my experience with both these products have been so bad over the years. Don't get me wrong. They both "backup"...

Jeff What version of the Seagate drive do you have? Would it happen to be one of those listed in this post: http://forum.storagecraft.com/Community/forums/p/1560/7139.aspx#7139 There a number of people who have encountered problems with the Seagate 1.5TB drives (try a Google and see).
